My Story

Everyone has a story.  Its nature will always vary, but evvveryone has a story that's all their own.  That being said, someone out there can always relate to your own personal story.  I hope you can relate to mine.  (If you can, shoot me an e-mail!  I'd love to hear from you!)

Me - January 17, 2009
My life transformation started when I was beginning my sophomore year in high school, about seven years ago...2003.  I had fallen into a deep depression and it was affecting every part of my life; my grades had gone down a full letter grade, I reluctantly kept diving but quit swimming, soccer, and track, I was sleeping more hours than I was awake, and I wanted nothing to do with people.  I had never had anything but fair-weather friends, and I was tired of people always letting me down, so I stopped talking to people.  Going from extremely active to extremely sedentary took a toll on my body, and I went from 120 lbs on my 5'4" frame to 160 in a period of 4 months.

In May of 2004 I ordered Slim in 6.  It sounded easy enough and it sounded very doable.  Well, as easy-to-follow and doable as it was, at 15 years old, I was not ready to make the necessary lifestyle changes for healthy weight-loss.  In May of 2005 I ordered Power 90.  Same thing--very doable, but was not prepared for changing my entire life yet.

Fast forward to April of 2006 and I saw an infomercial for Turbo Jam.  This was not like ANY other program I'd ever tried--I NEEDED to have this program.  It looked like so much fun, punching and kicking to great music with a really peppy trainer, Chalene Johnson.  I ordered it and was completely hooked.  For three months I never missed a workout.  It was always my go-to program whenever I felt myself becoming too comfortable with where I was.

In December of 2009 I learned about ChaLEAN Extreme, a program by the same trainer, except this was weights-based.  The difference between this time and all the other times was the support system I put in place for myself.  I told everyone under the sun what I was doing, especially by joining a thread on Beachbody's message boards.  I made a lot of friends on those threads and it forced me to stay accountable.  I became a coach because I have always truly believed in the power of Beachbody's programs and I wanted to help other people see the amazingness of the company--using myself as the billboard!

The most important thing I learned was that it IS possible to change your entire life by staying fit.  It doesn't take a world-class chef to be able to eat healthy, nor does it cost a million dollars.  You don't need to work out for 3 hours each day, rather 30-40 minutes each day.  One's life does not need to revolve around fitness--it can fit into your life.  (Let's be real--as a college student, do you think I was pious with my eating?  Come on now!)  Life is flexible, why shouldn't fitness be just as flexible?  The answer:  IT IS!!!  Nobody's perfect.

I'll be happy to coach you, using the same techniques that worked for me.  With a custom-made fitness and nutrition regimen, you'll be on your way to being truly physically and emotionally fit.  Let's get started!
